Sadler Lane Bullington

Johnny and I are excited about an upcoming addition to our family...  Sadler Lane Bullington is expected to arrive around January 22, 2013!!!

We recently settled on Sadler's name after months of talking about various name options.  We wanted a strong name that was not a too trendy. We preferred a traditional, or family name.  After looking through what seemed like thousands of names, nothing struck us as the right one.  We were also thinking through family names, and Sadler just kind of stuck.  Sadler is my Grandma's (Gran Gran) maiden name.  I began calling the baby by his new name and finally one day Johnny also referred to him as Sadler - I knew we were getting close!  It is now official that our baby boy will be Sadler Lane Bullington.

I am going to attempt to blog more often, documenting the life of our new, larger family.  As far as the pregnancy goes - not a lot to report.  Everything has been calm and right on track. Doctor's appointments have gone well and everything has gone as expected to this point!

We have also moved into a new home this past month and are finally getting settled in...  Now the fun part - working on Sadler's room!!!  It is not finished, but we are excited to have paint, furniture and bedding mostly complete.  Here are a few pics.

Summer Concert

Johnny and I went to Kansas City this weekend to see Kenny Chesney and Zac Brown Band's Going Coastal tour. The concert started at 4:30 at Arrowhead Stadium. It was HOT! Pulling into the parking lot we realized that the folks in KC must really be looking forward to football season - There were so many tents and grills, it feel like we got the full Arrowhead tailgating experience in July!

Uncle Cracker started the show, playing for about 45 minutes. We got there right after he started... Many continued tailgating.

Billy Currington was next. I was really looking forward to him. He played for about an hour, as the seats really began to fill.

Zac Brown started around 6:30 and played about an hour and half. They were Johnny's favorite.

The number of people crammed into this stadium on this hot, hot day was amazing. It was hot in our seats, but I was very thankful we weren't on the floor. The "Sand Bar" was standing room only! Many of those people were there around 3 pm.

Kenny Chesney came out and really put on a show. He has never been one of the top country singers I've wanted to see, but he is quite an entertainer. I now see why he has been country music's Entertainer of the Year several times. He played for about 2 hours.

This weekend is Zac Brown's birthday. After Kenny Chesney finished, they brought out a birthday drink and cake for him. They played together at the end another 30 minutes. It was a great show.

Lake Time

The first 8 years we were married Johnny spent every summer wishing we had a boat. This year he finally got his wish and we have spent almost every weekend on the lake.

Piper got to go on the first ride. He spent all his time in the shade.

Belle LOVES water. She jumped right in the first time we took her out. Once she realized she could not reach, she was a little more skeptical of getting in. That was until she saw a dog on the shore, then she leaped out of the boat and I had to swim after her to get her back in the boat.





We spend the day tubing and swimming. Once it starts to cool off, it's fishing time for Johnny.

Snow Day

Belle loves a snow day! She gets to hang out inside the house with a fresh bone. Life doesn't get any better for her. Yesterday, while everyone else was going to buy milk and bread, I was at petsmart buying bones.

The rule is...she stays on her blanket with the bone..you can see how she likes to test the rule.

Back inside, she sat and watched the snow fall for hours, but it finally wore her out.

Friday: Orphanage

This was our last day before we headed back home. This is an orphanage that hasn't been worked in on past trips. We were all exhausted but livened up when we were greeted by our first cutie.

This little girl was excited to greet us all. We passed her down as she grinned at everyone. After briefly working with her, we found out she has a family in the U.S. and her adoptive mom was there later that day. It was so exciting to see this little girl knowing she would have a bright future.

This is one of the corner chairs that was made for the various orphanage's and families.

This is one of the individual rooms we went in. We couldn't help but grab these kids and hold them. Several of the kids in these pictures have families that have adopted or are working on adopting them from the U.S.

This is a little girl. She was adopted by the same family with the girl on the very first picture of this blog.

This little guy stole everyone's attention. He was telling us all kinds of things that we of course didn't understand. He also has an American family working to adopt him. He has SOOO much potential that was evident just in the short amount of time we were there. We could not get enough of him.

Gregg fitted him into one of the wheelchairs we brought, and he was wheeling it everywhere.
