Ugly Christmas Sweater

I found these when I was looking through last years pictures. Bryan and Amy had a Christmas party last year with an "Ugly Christmas Sweater" theme. I love times like this because Johnny will put on anything I hand him and won't think twice about it (kind of like Halloween).

Happy Birthday Johnny

Dinner at the Melting Pot
A birthday card one of my kids made for Johnny
For Johnny's birthday, we went to Kansas City the weekend following our Branson shopping. We ate dinner at the Melting Pot and did a little more shopping. It snowed the entire time we were there so the plaza was very pretty with the lights and snow.
We were excited to get home and see Piper. He stayed at my mom's while were were gone. I don't know who was happier to see us him or my mom. I think he overstayed his welcome on this trip.

Black Friday

Stay Away from Those Sheets!!

As close as we get to roller coasters!
After our Thanksgiving meals, Johnny and I went to Branson to meet Amy and Bryan. We went to Silver Dollar City Thursday night before heading to the Tanger Mall for the midnight shopping. We got to sleep from 3:15-4:15 before Amy and I got up and joined the madness at Wal-Mart. Amy and I were innocent bystanders in the mad dash for cheap prices. We went to Wal-Mart thinking it would be fun to see the craziness and get a few good deals....Well...we got NO good deals because we were not willing to lose a limb to fight for anything. We noticed in the ad, that king size sheets were 20.00 and thought we should grab a set or two while we were there. We got to the sheets before they came over the intercom and said "GO". There were ladies standing with their hands stretched out touching the sheets waiting for the command. There was one lady who had been standing there since 1:30 AM for the 5:00 AM sell. Once they did say "GO", I saw a scene I had never experienced in my life. Amy and I stepped back in time to watch the ladies in front of us drop to the floor and climb into the bottom shelf to get every set of sheets. Within 3 seconds of the sale starting, there was not one set left. Amy and I were so in shock, we did not move until the shelves were empty..It was great. I believe that will be my last attempt to go to Wal-Mart at 5 AM for anything.

Random Ventures

Johnny and I began last Saturday getting Christmas decorations out of our attic. It was the last weekend we would both be home with nothing going on before Christmas. The initial plan was to get it all out and start decorating the yard. We got everything down in the garage and then realized it was way too cold to be working in the yard. We decided to change our plans and go to Branson for the day. We got there around 4:00 pm, went to the mall and Silver Dollar City for the evening. We made it back home by midnight. It was much more enjoyable than working in the yard all day. Johnny plans on getting the yard done next Saturday in the cold and possibly rain. We will let you know how it goes.

Engagement Party

Johnny and Piper taking a Sunday afternoon nap
We had a "Happy Engagement Party" for Amy and Bryan this weekend. We had a good time visiting with each other and snacking all night long. I also had the pleasure of meeting Hadleigh for the first time. She was very sweet and snuggly. Johnny told me not to be getting any crazy ideas quite yet.
We try to keep Piper out of the way when we have people over because he doesn't always know how to behave himself. He did very well Saturday night. Our friends even commented that maybe he is getting calmer in his old age (2 1/2 years old). He was worn out after the party. He spent all afternoon Sunday sleeping in the recliner with Johnny.

Flintstones

We had a good time on Halloween. We went to 2 friends houses and sang the Flintstone song in transition between the houses. Johnny spent the whole day yelling YABBA DABBA DOO practicing for the big night.
