Tailgating

A serious game of washers

Our third year for Arkansas Razorback season football tickets and nearly as importatant... TAILGATING. The main "crew" includes seven of us, which often turns into twenty-seven. The ultimate goal, one huge "LOT 57 Tailgate Party". Our first year began pretty sad. There were eight people, eight chairs, four coolers, and one grill (which we bought for $4.99 at Dollar General, leaned a little to the left, and wobbled quite a bit, but it served us well for two years!!!). Our tailgate grew quickly from this point. A tent, television, inverter for electricity, and most importantly - Washer Boards. We still "improve" a little each game (improving means bringing more stuff!!!). The boys "built" flag poles, a new set of washer boards, and decided to do chicken wings for the first time this year - they were SO proud of themselves. For the first game everyone is "anxious" to get out there, so we spent 7 1/2 hours tailgating before the game. Here is a brief recap of the day...

10:30 a.m. Arrive, set up, and eat lunch.

12:00 noon Guys playing washers, girls talking

1:00 p.m. Guys playing washers, girls talking

2:oo p.m. Guys playing washers, girls talking

3:00 p.m. Dinner time... Thanks for cooking B-Will!

4:00 p.m. Guys playing washers, girls (KATI) getting impatient.

Kati to Johnny - "We need to clean up"

4:15 p.m. Kati to Johnny - "We had better not be late"

4:45 p.m. Kati to Johnny - "Put up the washers NOW!!!"

5:15 p.m. Guys start cleaning... Kati is unhappy

5:30 p.m. We're off to the game

6:08 p.m. Arrive at game... We're late - missed pregame, Kati is very unhappy!

All ends well! We won the game (barely), Johnny is told that we WILL be leaving 1 hour prior to kickoff from this point on (since it takes 45 minutes to walk from tailgating to our seats 3 rows from the top of the stadium), and Johnny lovingly agrees!

(Johnny decided to help with this post, you can tell which part he typed.)

I LOVE the timeline. Except for every 5 minutes should include
2:05 Amy ate something
2:10 Amy ate something
2:15 Amy ate something

HAHAHAHA. The food is the most important part.

Can we really join you at the other game? We have red chairs, (or at least one), a cooler, and we'll get some shirts. And you can help us walk to the game!!! Can't wait!
